TSA Advisory (formerly Capital Projects Advisory) provided systems engineering services and requirements management to assist V/Line deliver key network improvements as part of the Regional Rail Revival (RRR) program. The network improvements included station and train modernisation, accessibility improvements for passengers, upgrades to reduce network faults, allow on-time running and increased capacity. The objective was to allow more services to run and relieve overcrowding.

For each V/Line rail corridor, the TSA team produced documents to define V/Line’s operational requirements during the project planning and development phases. When implemented, the system engineering process allowed each project requirement to be tracked and verified throughout the project development, delivery, and construction phases.

Our work in systems engineering allowed V/Line to optimise program benefits and successfully integrate them with the existing network, providing confidence that project objectives would be met. The team also helped V/Line provide a base upon which to build a permanent systems engineering team, reducing the previous lack of capabilities in this space.
